Robby the Robot is having a big Valentine’s Day party, and he needs your help to make sure things run smoothly! He needs to buy cups, plates, drinks, and so much more…he just needs your help with the math! Students will complete 6 multi-step Valentine’s Day themed word problems (multi-operation) that will surely keep your kids engaged!

There are 4 different versions included to help differentiate for your kiddos, or to use across grade levels 2-5.

Word problems for second grade version include:

*Subtraction and Addition up to and including 100’s

*Addition and Subtraction of money

*Tally Charts and bar graphing

*Repeated addition and drawing pictures to represent multiplication

*Basic fractions

*Time

 

Word problems for third grade version include:

*Subtraction and Addition up to and including 1,000s.

*Addition and Subtraction of money

*Tally Charts and bar graphing

*Multiplication (arrays, repeated addition, and distributive property)

*Multiplication Fact Fluency

*Time

 

Word problems for the fourth grade version include:

*Subtraction and Addition up to and including 1,000s.

*Division

*Using combinations to solve.

*Addition and Subtraction of money

*Tally Charts and bar graphing

*Multiplication (repeated addition and distributive property, and double digit times double digit multiplication)

*Time

 

Word problems for the fifth grade version include:

*Subtraction and Addition

*Long division

*Using combinations to solve

*Addition and Subtraction of money (creating expressions)

*Multiplication (numbers into the 100s)

*Time

Students are also asked to color, and then cut Robby the Robot and all of the problems out. They will then paste, tape, or staple the entire problem together to make a fun Valentine’s Day decoration for your classroom.
