How do you celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with your students? There is so much to teach, so much of a legacy left by Dr. King, and this is one of the more important topics we need to get to students. It can also be tough to teach this in a grade-level appropriate manner. I have tried to make this a bit easier for teachers with these activities.
1. Martin Luther King Research Craftivity for Google Classroom and Google Slide
This activity is easy to use and assign if you use Google in your classroom. Full directions are included on how to assign and have students create this research project AND it looks wonderful in the hallway. Snag it here.
2. Martin Luther King Jr. Mystery Pixel Activity
This activity has kids using Google Sheets. Students research using the questions and links provided. They then plug in the correct answers into the Sheet. If the answers are correct, color pixels will show up which create a Mystery Picture. Check this out here.
3. Grammar Boot Camp and Martin Luther King Jr. Activity
I put these two resources together. Students can learn about how MLK, while creating a hallway display. I also included Grammar Boot Camp to help students master grammar skills in 21 days. Check this out here.
I hope these activities help you and your students celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Have a great week!
