Part 1- Sample Videos
Almost all of the videos and apps on this page will be used in conjunction with iMovie. Apple created iMovie, which is available on both iPhone and the iPad. The program is relatively simple, and can absolutely be used with young learners.
This video was created with iMovie, along with the app ‘Tellagami.’ This app allows users to create an avatar, choose a background, record a 30 second voice narration (which your avatar will move and talk along to), and finally compile everything to make a video. Probably one of the easiest video-making apps I have ever used. For more info about specific apps, see below.
The second video was also created with iMovie, along with a Green Screen. The second half of the video was filmed with an app called ‘Green Screen.’ You do actually need a screen in back of you. I just purchased a 6 yard piece of fabric from Wal-Mart, which seemed to do the trick. For more about the app, see below. As much as I liked using the “tellagami” app, where you make the avatar, and as futuristic as that may be, I think there’s something about seeing a real-life person in a video that connects you to the content. My kids thought this was the coolest thing ever! It was a bit more of a hassle to get the green screen and the bright lighting perfect, but I think it was well worth the work!
Sample 3- iMovie
This video is an example of a video created just using iMovie. Choosing a theme, adding pictures, adding theme music, and then doing a voice recording is as easy as it can get!
